WORK IN PROGRESS / THE SHAME
We are surrounded by extreme impressions. In the spaces between are the small details. The moves you make, consciously or unconsciously, to keep this at bay. For a short while. What you can't do anything about. The pink Post-it note hanging outside your door on a Sunday morning. The posters pasted on a wall that you pass on your way to work. The suffering genetically engineered salmon you are being convinced is healthy to eat. You push the wool socks knitted by your aunt into your shoes and feel ashamed. The drawings, all work in progress, 2024, currently determine their own visual directions. As more drawings are added, they form stories that are as incoherent as scattered thoughts.
